There once was an important granite industry in Marlborough. Stone from our town was used in fine Boston buildings at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA and locally. Blankets and wooden-ware, including toys, have been manufactured here.

Today, Marlborough is a rural residential suburban community. A town of hills and beautiful vistas of Mount Monadnock. It attracts the attention of summer tourists and vacationers. Points of interest include the Old Meeting House site and Cemetery, the Frost Free Library, Webb Granite Quarry and the Gates House.

MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION:
On August 25th the manner in which we process your motor vehicle transactions will be changing. We are becoming an Online Municipal Agent on this date.

Please note: per RSA 261:148, Permit Required, you are required to present your expiring registration in order for us to be able to process your renewal….always….every time.

If you are renewing one vehicle and three trailers, you must bring with you the expiring registration for the one vehicle and the expiring registrations for all three trailers. If you are unable to locate the expiring registrations, we will be able to provide you with a certified copy, printed from the State’s database, however there will be a $10.00 charge for each certified copy.

Once we are an Online Municipal Agent, we will be able to perform many of the tasks that you must currently go to the DMV in Keene to complete. We will be able to issue a greater variety of plates, including Initial, and renew heavier non-commercial vehicles.

It is a change that we are looking forward to and ask for your patience during our training and adjustment period.
